Linebacker has been a position of need for Liberty the past two recruiting cycles and the Flames got a big addition from Rashaad Harding. The former 3-star rated prospect by 247Sports, the 6’1″, 210 pound Harding joins the Flames after spending the previous three seasons at Louisiana-Monroe. He will be immediately eligible and has one season of eligibility remaining.
Harding elected to sit out the 2020 season due to COVID concerns and he entered his name in the transfer portal in mid-September. Originally from Carencro High School in Lafayette, Louisiana, Harding had offers out of high school from ULM, SMU, South Alabama, Tulane, and several FCS schools. In 2019, he totaled 60 tackles, 8 tackles for loss, 2 sacks, and 2 PBUs. In 31 games played for the Warhawks, Harding recorded 132 tackles, 12.5 TFLs, 4.5 sacks, 3 QBH, and 3 PBUs.
As he opted out and elected to transfer prior to the start of the 2020 season, Harding was not on the field in the game between ULM and Liberty on October 10 this season when the Flames won 40-7. Liberty is scheduled to travel to Monroe, Louisiana to take on the Warhawks on October 16, 2021.
