Liberty is set to be in the national spotlight on Saturday, January 4 with three high profile sports’ teams on national television throughout the day.
It all begins in the morning at 11 with the Bahamas Bowl as Liberty takes on Buffalo on ESPN 2. Then, at 4 p.m., the Lady Flames’ women’s basketball team plays at Middle Tennessee on ESPNU. In the nightcap, the men’s basketball team hosts Middle Tennessee at 6 p.m. in a game that will be televised on CBS Sports Network.
11 AM Bahamas Bowl, Liberty football vs Buffalo, ESPN2
Liberty will compete in its sixth consecutive bowl game, ending each season in a bowl since joining the FBS as a full-member in 2019. The Flames, at 8-3 on the season, are looking to improve their record to 4-2 all-time in bowl games as they take on Buffalo. The Bulls are 8-4 on the season, finishing 6-2 and in third place in the MAC.
4 PM Liberty women’s basketball at Middle Tennessee, ESPNU
The two teams that met in last year’s CUSA women’s basketball championship game will renew their acquaintances early in the New Year in conference play. The Blue Raiders, who have asserted themselves as the dominant program in CUSA, will welcome the Lady Flames to Murfreesboro. These two are once again expected to compete for the conference championship.
6 PM Liberty men’s basketball vs Middle Tennessee, CBS Sports Network
Liberty will conclude its seven-game homestand and conclude the day’s festivities on national TV with a CUSA clash from Liberty Arena against Middle Tennessee. The Flames and Blue Raiders will meet in Lynchburg early in the conference season with both teams having their eyes set on competing at the top of the CUSA this season.
