The Liberty Flames will face the University of South Carolina in 2023, according to FBSchedules.
The game will be played at Williams-Brice Stadium in Columbia, South Carolina on Saturday, November 4, 2023. South Carolina will pay Liberty a $1.5 million guarantee for the game. It will mark the first ever meeting between the two programs.
The Flames’ first ever meeting with an SEC program was in 2018 when Liberty lost at Auburn, 53-0. Future games scheduled against SEC teams include a 2021 meeting at Ole Miss and a 2022 game at Arkansas.
AD Ian McCaw and Liberty have previously released completed schedules through 2022 and with this game 2023 becomes closer and closer to completion. Alongside the Gamecocks, Liberty is also currently scheduled to travel to Coastal Carolina, Buffalo, Miami (OH), Marshall, and New Mexico State in 2023. The home schedule for that season currently features matchups against Bowling Green, eastern Michigan, Old Dominion and UMass.
