Liberty will host the ASUN Championships for men’s and women’s indoor track & field, men’s and women’s tennis, and softball in 2020-21, athletic director Ian McCaw said.
“They’re rolling over the 2020 championships to 2021,” he said. “So, we’ll be hosting next year, in addition to indoor track, men’s and women’s tennis and also softball. The Championships that we didn’t get to host this year are just rolled over to next year.”
Liberty played host to the men’s and women’s indoor track & field championships in February, both events won by the Flames. Liberty was also set to host the 2020 men’s and women’s tennis ASUN Championship in April at the Cook Tennis Center and the ASUN Softball Championship in May at Liberty Softball Stadium, but due to the cancellation of spring sports by the ASUN and NCAA those events did not take place.
Florida Gulf Coast will once again host the men’s and women’s cross country championship in the fall. FGCU will also host the 2020 women’s volleyball championship and the 2021 baseball championship. Kennesaw State will host the 2021 women’s lacrosse championship while North Florida will host the 2021 men’s and women’s outdoor track & field championships.
Women’s and men’s soccer and men’s and women’s basketball championships will be hosted by top seeded teams once again. The golf championship will be hosted by the ASUN at the Chateau Elan Legends Club.
