The Liberty Flames (9-1) and Coastal Carolina Chanticleers (11-0) are preparing for the big clash in the Cure Bowl on Saturday, December 26th from Orlando, Florida. The Flames have the one loss but two wins over Power Five opponents while the Chanticleers have a win over Big 12 foe Kansas.
According to ESPN’s FPI, Liberty’s best win came against the #31 ranked FPI team Virginia Tech while Coastal’s best win came against the #15 ranked FPI team BYU.
The rest of Liberty’s win came against FCS North Alabama, FCS Western Carolina, #127 UMass, #124 UL Monroe, #121 Florida International, #116 Southern Miss, #106 Western Kentucky, and #101 Syracuse. Liberty’s lone loss was to #65 NC State.
The rest of Coastal’s wins came against FCS Campbell, #117 Kansas, #115 Texas State, #114 South Alabama, #100 Arkansas State, #93 Georgia State, #92 Georgia Southern, #90 Troy, #39 Appalachian State, and #36 Louisiana.
