Liberty returns home after a brief one game road trip where the Flames dominated East Carolina. On Tuesday night, Ritchie McKay and his Flames welcome the Navy Midshipmen into the Vines Center. Navy is 1-2 on the season after dropping their season opener at George Mason in overtime, 68-55. The Midshipmen then won their first two home contests, defeating the same ECU team Liberty just beat, 62-57, and Washington College, 87-56.
The Flames defeated Navy in Annapolis last season behind 18 point on 5 made three-pointers by Darius McGhee. He was one of four Flames to reach double figures as he was joined by Keenan Gumbs, Scottie James, and Georgie Pacheco-Ortiz.
The Midshipmen feature a balanced offensive attack led by four double figure scorers. 6’0″ guard Cam Davis leads the team in scoring at 11.7 points per game. Navy is led by 9th year head coach Ed Dechellis. They are coming off a 12-19 record and 8-10 mark in Patriot League play.
