As announced last night at the Big South’s annual Spring Meetings Awards and hall of Fame Dinner, Liberty won its Conference-record sixth consecutive Sasser Cup title and 11th overall. The Flames also captured the women’s all-sports award, and finished second in the men’s all-sports award to Coastal in a very tight race. Coastal finished with an average of 13.94, while Liberty finished with an average of 13.17. The 11 total Sasser Cup titles is a Big South record; Coastal has 10.
Liberty won the regular-season title in women’s basketball and volleyball and shared the regular-season crown in football, while claiming the Conference tournament championship in men’s and women’s cross country, volleyball, men’s indoor track & field, men’s and women’s basketball, men’s and women’s outdoor track & field and baseball.
