Kickoff times and TV information has been released for all 12 of Liberty’s football games in 2023, the first for the program in Conference USA.

Eight of the team’s 12 games will be on linear TV with six on CBS Sports Network and two on ESPNU. At least one game will be on ESPN+ while three others will be on ESPN platforms and will be announced which network specifically 12 days prior to each game’s kickoff. These games could be on ESPN+ or one of the linear ESPN Networks.

Also, Conference USA has announced their annual championship game will be played this year on Friday, Dec. 1 and it will be televised on CBS Sports Network. The game will feature the top two teams in the conference regular season standings and it will be played at the home field of the team that finishes the regular season in first place.

The season will begin on Saturday, Sept. 2 against Bowling Green at Williams Stadium in Lynchburg, Virginia. Kickoff has been set for Noon and will be televised on CBS Sports Network.

The following week, the Flames will make their CUSA debut against New Mexico State at 6 p.m. on ESPN+. The Aggies handed Liberty a loss to conclude the 2022 regular season in Lynchburg, 49-14.

Liberty’s first road contest will come in week three against Buffalo. The game from New York has a Noon kickoff time scheduled and will be on CBS Sports Network. It will be the first of two straight road contests, as Liberty heads to Miami the following week to take on FIU at 6:30 on an ESPN Platform that will be announced later.

Following an open date heading into October, the Flames will then play four straight midweek games, beginning at home on Thursday, Oct. 5 against fellow CUSA newcomer Sam Houston State. The game is scheduled for kickoff at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Just five days later, Liberty will play at Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Oct. 10. Kickoff has been scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on ESPNU. Like Sam Houston, the Gamecocks will also be playing in their first year at the FBS level as they transition into Conference USA.

On Tuesday, Oct. 17, the Flames play host to Middle Tennessee at 7 p.m. on CBS Sports Network. The following week, Liberty will take on Western Kentucky in a game that is expected to be between the top two teams in CUSA this season. Kickoff on Tuesday, Oct. 24 is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. and will be on ESPNU.

As the calendar shifts to November the games also return to Saturday. Liberty will play host to Louisiana Tech on Nov. 4 in the final CUSA home game of the season. Kickoff has been scheduled for 6 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

Liberty continues a three-game home stand the next two weeks with non-conference contests from Williams Stadium against Old Dominion and UMass. Both games are scheduled for 1 p.m. kickoffs and will be on an ESPN Platform that will be announced later.

The regular season finale is scheduled for Nov. 25 at UTEP in El Paso, Texas. Kickoff has been scheduled for 3:30 p.m. on CBS Sports Network.

In addition to being the program’s first season in Conference USA, new head coach Jamey Chadwell will also make his Liberty debut this season after he was announced to the position this past December. He inherits a team that has won at least eight games each of the past four seasons while also advancing to a bowl game each of the program’s first four years at the FBS level.
