While we still wait to see if there will be a 2020 college football season and what that season will look like, Liberty football has released its August Training Camp schedule, set to begin this Friday with the team’s first practice since March 13 before spring break and the COVID-19 pandemic canceled the rest of the spring session.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, all of Liberty’s training camp practices are closed to the general public and media. Coach Freeze, other coaches, and players will be available for video interviews frequently throughout camp.
Following Liberty’s first practice on Friday, the team will have two days off before returning to the practice field on Monday. The Flames’ first practice in full pads is scheduled for Saturday, Aug. 15.
Liberty is moving into its second season under head coach Hugh Freeze and his staff. The Flames are looking to get to a second consecutive bowl game, after finishing the 2019 season 8-5 following the team’s win over Georgia Southern in the Cure Bowl. Freeze welcomes back a talented, but young roster that features just 9 returning starters.
