With the transfer portal dominating headlines throughout college sports the past couple of years, every team loses and adds some players through it each season.

We are five games into the new season under head coach Jamey Chadwell and nearing the halfway point. With the Flames currently in a bye week, this provides us an opportunity to check in on all the transfers Liberty added to its roster following the 2023 season:

WR Tyson Mobley (Coastal Carolina)

Mobley is currently third on the team in receiving with 18 catches (leads the team) for 169 yards and a score.

OL Jordan Hall (Monmouth)

Coming off a total ankle reconstruction, Hall was limited during training camp and into the beginning part of the season. He is working back towards full strength and has been a key member of Liberty’s offensive line.

OL JP Flores (Louisville)

Flores was injured in the preseason and missed the first three games before returning for the ECU game. Getting closer to full strength, Flores should help solidify the interior of the Liberty offensive line.

LB Jahmar Brown (Coastal Carolina)

Brown has become one of the best players on the defense, currently second on the team with 22 tackles. He also has 5.5 tackles for loss.

LB Teylor Jackson (East Carolina)

Jackson has 16 tackles so far for the Flames this season and has been a key member of the rotation at linebacker.

WR Elijah Canion (Purdue)

Canion, a big body receiver the Flames have needed on the outside, currently has 7 catches for 130 yards and 1 touchdown.

WR Donte Lee, Jr. (Shaw)

Lee missed the past game with an injury but he has 3 receptions for 50 yards.

DT Mike Jarvis (Wisconsin)

Jarvis is part of the rotation on the interior of the defensive line. He has played in all five games and has 2 tackles.

WR Juju Gray (NC State)

Gray only played in the opener against Campbell and has been out since then with an injury. Expected to be the Flames’ kick returner and a key piece on offense, Gray has 1 catch for 7 yards. He will hopefully be able to return after the Liberty bye week against Kennesaw State.

LB Aidan Vaughan (Wisconsin)

Vaughn currently has 6 tackles in five games played as a depth piece for the Flames at linebacker.

QB Ryan Burger (Appalachian State)

Burger has solidified himself as Kaidon Salter’s backup at quarterback. He has not had any significant playing time yet.

DE Brenton Williams (Auburn)

Williams has shown his ability to rush the passer already for Liberty. Playing in all five games played, he has 3 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and a sack.

LB Ethan Crisp (Vanderbilt)

Crisp has played in all five games and has 2 tackles.

OL DJ Geth (North Carolina)

Geth is a depth piece for the Flames on the offensive line. He should have a solid future with the team.

DT Eli Hall (Wake Forest)

Hall has played in all five games and has 2 tackles.

LS Ryan Wilkins (UCLA/Elon)

Wilkins has solidified his spot as Liberty’s long snapper through the first half of the season.

CB Charles Yates, Jr. (Arizona/ODU)

Yates has not played yet for the Flames.

DB Dominick Hill (Temple)

Hill played in three of Liberty’s first four games, did not record any stats, and has announced he will redshirt and enter the transfer portal.
