With the transfer portal dominating headlines throughout college sports the past couple of years, every team loses and adds some players through it each season.

We are five games into the new season under head coach Jamey Chadwell and nearing the halfway point. With the Flames currently in a bye week, this provides us an opportunity to check in on all the transfers Liberty lost through the portal following the 2023 season:

WR CJ Daniels

So far this season, Daniels has 20 receptions for 239 yards for LSU with a long of 34. He has yet to record a touchdown for the Tigers.

DT Kendy Charles

Charles has played in all 6 games for Duke, recording 17 tackles, 3.5 tackles for loss, 0.5 sacks, and a fumble recovery.

DB Preston Hodge

Hodge is at Colorado where he has 18 tackles, 0.5 tackles for loss, 4 pass breakups, and is tied for the team lead with Travis Hunter with two interceptions.

OL Chase Mitchell

Mitchell is starting at right tackle for Vanderbilt.

CB Kobe Singleton

In 4 games played, Singleton has 5 tackles and 3 pass breakups for Oregon State.

S Jaylon Jimmerson

Jimmerson transferred to CUSA foe Sam Houston. In 6 games, he has 27 tackles, 2 tackles for loss, 1 sack, 1 interception, and 1 pass break up.

LB Aakil Washington

Aakil Washington has played in 6 games for South Alabama, recording 16 tackles, 3 QB Hurries, and 1 pass breakup.

DE Bryan Whitehead

Whitehead has played in five games for Arkansas State, recording 7 tackles, 2.5 tackles for loss, and 6 QB hurries.

QB Reese Mooney

Mooney has not played yet for UL Monroe.

QB Johnathan Bennett

Bennett is the starting quarterback for FCS Citadel who is currently 2-5 on the season. He has completed 91 of 179 passes for 1,211 yards, 5 touchdowns, and 6 interceptions. He’s also rushed 81 times for 296 yards and 4 scores.

WR Errol Rogers

In 6 games played for FCS Southeast Louisiana, Rogers has 6 catches for 50 yards.

LB Olan Robinson

In 5 games played for FCS Alabama A&M, Robinson has 6 tackles and 0.5 TFLs.

LB Jordan Norwood

Norwood has played in 5 games for FCS Incarnate Word. He has 3 tackles.

DL Jackson Shirer

Shirer has not appeared in any games for FCS Delaware State.

LS Austin Turner

Turner is the long snapper for FCS Austin Peay.

DE Amari Williams

Williams originally signed with FCS Lamar out of the portal. He is no longer listed on their roster and has not played for them this season.

DT Tysheik Galloway

It does not appear that Galloway has landed with any team.

LB Maurice Freeman
