Per NCAA rules, June 15 is the first day the 2022 class can speak directly with Division I college coaches. Before this date, college coaches needed to call parents or high school coaches in order to reach student-athletes.

With commitments from Brody Peebles and Joseph Venzant, Liberty is currently full for the Class of 2021 as the roster is currently constructed. The Flames do have two scholarships available for the Class of 2022.

Here is a list of players from the Class of 2022 Liberty has contacted, as of Tuesday morning.

Austin Benigni

5’10” point guard from The Woodlands, Texas where he attends The Woodlands Christian Academy. He has been offered by McNeese State. He’s also heard from Liberty, Denver and Mount St. Mary’s.

Sam Cogan

6’3″ guard from Lincoln Charter School in Denver, North Carolina where he averaged 18.5 points, 8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game last season. He has been in contact with Liberty, Air Force, Charlotte, Gardner-Webb, and College of Charleston, as well. He led his team to a 7th straight conference championship and regionals appearance with a 27-3 record while being named all-conference and all-region.

Connor Essegian

6’4″ guard from Albion, Indiana where he attends Central Noble High School. As a freshman, he averaged 18.7 points per game and broke the school record for freshman scoring. This past season as a sophomore, he averaged 24 points and 7.9 rebounds per game while shooting 40% from three. He’s currently 4th in scoring in school history. He’s received offers from several non-Division I schools and has picked up interest from Belmont, Lipscomb, Purdue, Yale, and Liberty.

Braden Ilic

6’8″ forward from Morristown, Tennessee where he attends Morristown East High School. He has an offer from Appalachian State. He’s also been contacted by Liberty, Davidson, Belmont, Virginia Tech, George Washington, and West Virginia.

Cale Jacobsen

6’3″ guard from Ashland, Nebraska who attends Ashland-Greenwood High School. He’s heard from Liberty, Colorado State, South Dakota State, North Dakota State, North Dakota, Omaha, Oral Roberts, Northern Colorado, New Orleans, Boise State, San Jose State, Indiana State, and UT Arlington.

Dawson McAlhany

6’4″ guard from Bishop McGuinness High School in Kernersville, North Carolina. He’s heard from Liberty, Wofford and Missouri-Kansas City.

Noah Ross

6’6″ guard from Trinity Academy in Raleigh, North Carolina. He has offers from FIU, Hofstra, and Eastern Kentucky, and he’s heard from Liberty, Virginia Tech, Middle Tennessee, Davidson, Seton Hall, Elon, Holy Cross, Appalachian State, Air Force, Belmont, and UNC Wilmington.

Cade Stinett

6’2″ guard from Greenwood High School in Bowling Green, Kentucky. He averaged 15.6 points and 4.8 rebounds this past season. He’s heard from Liberty, Incarnate Word, Western Carolina, and Lipscomb.

Justin Taylor

6’5″ guard from St. Anne’s Belfield School in Charlottesville, Virginia. Rivals has rated him as a 4-star prospect. He has offers from Liberty, James Madison, Old Dominion, Bryant, Virginia Tech, NC State, St. Joe’s, and Maryland. This past season he averaged 15.4 points, 5.3 rebounds, and 2.8 assists per game. He’s ranked as the No. 53 prospect in the country according to Rivals.

Isaac Traudt

6’8″ forward from Grand Island High School in Grand Island, Nebraska. He has offers from Creighton, Nebraska, Northern Colorado, Drake, Idaho, Kansas State, and Wyoming. He’s also received interest from Liberty, New Orleans, Colorado, Missouri, Oklahoma State, Oregon, Stanford, Wisconsin, and Belmont. Rivals ranks him as a 3-star rated prospect. Rivals ranks him as the No. 118 prospect in the class.

Patrick Wessler

7’0″ big man from Combine Academy in Matthews, North Carolina. He has offers from Charlotte, Wake Forest, and Elon, and he’s heard from Liberty, Clemson, Winthrop, Virginia Tech, Ole Miss, Georgia Tech, Virginia, and Western Carolina.
