Per NCAA rules, June 15 is the first day the 2023 class can speak directly with Division I college coaches. Before this date, college coaches needed to call parents or high school coaches in order to reach student-athletes. With 2022 prospects Javan Simmons, Josh Reed, and Zach Cleveland all taking official visits to Liberty this month, the Flames are still heavily pursuing rising seniors, but it’s never too early to look ahead to the 2023 class.
Here is a list of 2023 prospects Liberty has contacted since midnight June 15.
Braylen Blue
Blue is a 6’3″ point guard from Madison, Wisconsin. He has several offers including offers from high major programs like Arizona State and Washington. Other offers include Eastern Washington, FIU and Rice.
Cole Callaway
Callaway is a 6’4″ guard from Mooresville, North Carolina who has heard from a number of schools including Liberty, Furman, Western Carolina, College of Charleston, Charlotte, VMI, and some non Division I schools.
Truman Claytor iv
The 6’5″ forward from Cape Fear Christian Academy in Erwin, North Carolina has picked up offers from Eastern Kentucky and FIU and has been contacted by Liberty, Elon, Air Force, Western Carolina, Holy Cross, Virginia Tech, Cincinnati, Mercer, and ETSU.
Myles Colvin
Colvin is a 6’3″ guard from Heritage Christian School in Indianapolis, Indiana who holds offers from Tulane, IUPUI, Purdue, and Miami (OH). He was scheduled to talk to those schools plus Liberty and Virginia on Tuesday.
Silas Demery
6’2″ guard from Raleigh, Demery has heard from Liberty, Virginia Tech, Tennessee, Wake Forest, Elon, George Washington, and Western Carolina.
Isaac Harrell
The 6’7″ forward from Jonesboro, Arkansas has heard from Liberty, Arkansas State, and Elon.
Cal Klesmit
Klesmit is a 6’3″ guard from Neenah, Wisconsin who holds an offer from Wofford and Toledo. He’s also heard from Liberty, Wisconsin Green-Bay, Belmont, Miami (OH), Illinois State, Loyola, and Appalachian State.
Jaylen Lee
6’2″ point guard from Bentonville, Arkansas who has offers from Oral Roberts and DePaul. He has been contacted by Liberty, Elon, and Central Arkansas.
Jacob Meyer
Meyer is a 6’2″ point guard from Kentucky who has been in contact with Liberty, Toledo, Western Kentucky, and Appalachian State.
Ben Nicol
Nicol is a 6’7″ forward from George Washington High School in Charleston, West Virginia. He has offers from Radford and Youngstown State and has heard from Liberty, Loyola, and George Washington.

The 6’8″ forward from Carmel, Indiana has spoke to a number of schools including Liberty, Purdue, Illinois, Iowa, Butler, Evansville, Illinois State, Miami (OH), Nevada, Western Michigan, Stetson, Indiana State, Appalachian State, and Florida Atlantic.
Reed Sheppard
Sheppard is a 6’2″ guard from Kentucky with offers from College of Charleston, Louisville, Arizona State, and several others. He has heard from Liberty, College of Charleston, Memphis, Louisville, Gonzaga, Virginia, George Washington, Arizona State, Indiana, and Virginia Tech.
