In August, the NCAA Division I Council approved a proposal to grant all fall athletes an extra year of eligibility, whether they play during the 2020-21 season or not. So, all athletes playing football, as well as other fall sports, at Liberty, have a fifth and, in some cases, sixth year of eligibility.
While it still remains to be seen who will return from this group, here is a list of all seniors, redshirt seniors, and graduate students of the current 2020 Liberty football roster.
QB Chris Ferguson
Ferguson came in last December as a grad transfer from Maine. He pushed Malik Willis for the starting job during the summer and played in 6 games this season, completing 19 of 37 passes for 197 yards and 4 touchdowns.
UPDATE: Ferguson has announced his intentions to transfer.
RB Joshua Mack
In his two seasons at Liberty since transferring from Maine, Mack has rushed for nearly 1,500 yards and 11 touchdowns.
UPDATE: Mack alludes to making a return in 2021.
RB Peytton Pickett
Pickett has played three seasons at Liberty and has rushed for 1,045 yards and 17 touchdowns.
UPDATE: Pickett has announced his intentions to transfer.
WR Kevin Shaa
Shaa has been the third leading receiver on the team each of the past two seasons and he has 51 receptions for 813 yards and 6 touchdowns with the Flames.
UPDATE: Kevin Shaa will be returning in 2021.
WR DJ Stubbs
Stubbs led the team in receiving this year with 33 receptions for 455 yards with 3 touchdowns. He has surpassed the 1,500 receiving yard mark in his career at Liberty.
UPDATE: Stubbs will be returning in 2021.
TE Chris Barrett
Barrett has spent the past 3 seasons with Liberty after transferring in from ASA College Miami in Hialeah, Florida. This season, he has 5 receptions for 29 yards and 2 touchdowns.
UPDATE: Barrett has entered the transfer portal.
TE Trevor Hobbs
In his lone season at Liberty, Hobbs has 3 receptions for 33 yards, playing in only two games this year after suffering an injury during training camp.
UPDATE: Hobbs will be returning in 2021.
TE Johnny Huntley
Huntley has 13 receptions for 167 yards and 3 touchdowns this season in his second year on the field with the program after transferring in from Colorado.
UPDATE: Huntley has announced his intentions to return to Liberty in 2021.
OL Damian Bounds
Bounds has started most of the past two seasons at left guard for the Flames.
UPDATE: Bounds will return in 2021.

OL Maisen Knight
Knight has been a reserve lineman the past two seasons for Liberty after transferring in from Ventura College.
UPDATE: Knight has entered the transfer portal, transferring to Utah State.
OL Bryce Mathews
Mathews joined the program this season after transferring from Ole Miss. He was a reserve lineman and played on certain special teams units.
UPDATE: Mathews will return in 2021.
OL Thomas Sargeant
Sargeant has started every game for the past four seasons at center.
UPDATE: Sargeant will return in 2021.

OL Tristan Schultz
Schultz has started most games over the past three seasons, first at right tackle and then at left tackle the past two years.
UPDATE: Schultz will return in 2021.
DT Elijah James
James has been a starter at defensive tackle this season, recording 31 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and 1 sack. He has previously said that he would be coming back for 2021.
UPDATE: James will indeed return in 2021.
DT Ralfs Rusins
Rusins has been the team’s starting nose guard the past two years. This season, he has 34 tackles, 3 TFLs, and 1 sack.
UPDATE: Rusins will return for the 2021 season.
DE Jayod Sanders
Sanders has been a key reserve at defensive end for the Flames. He has 6 tackles, 2.5 TFLs, and 2 sacks this season.
UPDATE: Sanders will return for the 2021 season.
LB Anthony Butler
After transferring in from Charlotte in the spring, Butler has become one of the team leaders on defense. He is second on the team with 58 tackles, 3 TFLs, 1 sack, and 2 interceptions.
UPDATE: Butler has declared for the 2021 NFL Draft.
LB Tyron Staples
Staples has been a reserve linebacker for the Flames.
UPDATE: Staples will not return in 2021.
LB Matt Terrell
Terrell transferred in this season and played in 8 games on special teams.
UPDATE: Terrell will not return in 2021.
CB Emanuel Dabney
Dabney joined the program last year and has been a starter at corner this season. In 8 games, he has 14 tackles, 1.5 TFLs, and 6 PBUs.
UPDATE: After entering the transfer portal in late November and then having a change of heart to finish the 2020 season with the Flames, Dabney is now back in the portal. He is transferring to Alcorn State.
CB Jimmy Faulks
Faulks started most of the 2019 season and has played in 4 games this year with 3 tackles and 1 interception.
UPDATE: Faulks will return in 2021.
S Benjamin Alexander
Alexander has been a key member of the secondary and special teams the past few seasons. He started 2 games this year and has 18 tackles.
UPDATE: Alexander will return in 2021.
S Tim Kidd-Glass
Kidd-Glass transferred in from NC State and has battled a foot injury all season. He’s played in 2 games with 3 tackles.
UPDATE: Kidd-Glass will not return for the 2021 season.
S Cedric Stone
Stone joined the program just prior to the start of the 2020 season. He’s played in 9 games, making 4 starts, and has recorded 19 tackles and 1 interception.
UPDATE: Stone will return in 2021.
K Alex Barbir
Barbir joined the program this season and has made 10 of his 17 field goals and 46 of his 48 PATs.
