As we mentioned yesterday, the top offensive tackle in the country for the 2022 class, according to 247Sports, is Zach Rice, who attends Liberty Christian Academy in Liberty’s literal backyard. Well, 247Sports’ #2 ranked offensive tackle in the country isn’t much further away.
5-star prospect Gunner Givens attends Lord Botetourt High School in Daleville, Virginia, about a one hour drive from Lynchburg. In addition to being ranked as the #2 offensive tackle in the class of 2022, Givens is also ranked by 247Sports as the #2 prospect in Virginia regardless of position (2nd to Rice in both categories) and the 17th best prospect nationally.
In addition to an offer from Liberty, Givens also has offers from a who’s who list of suitors including Alabama, Baylor, Clemson, Florida, Florida State, Michigan, NC State, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Ole Miss, Penn State, Texas A&M, USC, Virginia, and Virginia Tech.
