After a brief stint in the NBA G League, former Liberty guard Lovell Cabbil has made his way overseas where he is playing for Mgzaverbi-Armia Tbilisi in the Georgian Basketball Super League.
In 4 games played, Cabbil is averaging 13 points, 4.5 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2.5 steals. In his 2nd game for the team, he had a season high of 22 points while shooting 4-of-7 from three point range.
Cabbil finished his career 13th in the school’s all-time scoring list with 1,406 points in a career that spanned from 2015-2019. Cabbil is also 9th on the school’s all-time assist list as he finished with 360. He helped lead the Flames’ to a school record 29 wins and first ever NCAA Tournament win against Mississippi State last season. He scored 18 points in Liberty’s win over the Bulldogs.
Cabbil was Liberty head coach Ritchie McKay’s first recruit signed when he returned to Lynchburg in April 2015, and he was a catalyst to help move the program from one of the worst in Division I to a NCAA Tournament Round of 32 team. Cabbil started 125 games during his four-year career.
