Liberty quarterback Malik Willis left Liberty’s game Saturday against Florida International late in the 4th quarter with a left arm injury. He was seen on the field with a sling on his left arm.
“I hadn’t had a chance to really talk to the doctors yet,” Freeze said about Willis’ injury. “I’ll get with them here in a little bit and see.”
Chris Ferguson entered the game in replacement of Willis and helped the Flames seal the 36-34 win over FIU as Liberty moves to 2-0 to open the season.
Willis finished the game 24 of 30 passing for 285 yards and 2 touchdowns. He also added 85 yards on the grand on 13 attempts. His status is not currently known moving forward. Liberty hosts North Alabama next Saturday, Oct. 3.
