Former Liberty quarterback Malik Willis is on the move. After spending his first two seasons in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans, Willis has been traded to the Green Bay Packers, according to Adam Schefter. He was traded for a 2025 7th round pick.

Willis was drafted in the 3rd round of the 2021 draft by the Tennessee Titans. After serving as Ryan Tannehill’s backup for his rookie season, that second string spot was handed over to Will Levis in 2023. Now, entering 2024, Levis is the presumed starter while Willis was battling with NFL veteran Mason Rudolph for the backup spot. As the preseason is drawing to a close, the Titans have dealt Willis to the Packers where the former Liberty star will look to stick as a backup to Jordan Love.

Willis has played in 11 games during his first two seasons in the league. He has completed 35 of 66 passes (53.0%) for 350 yards and 3 interceptions. He has also rushed 32 times for 144 yards and 1 touchdown.

Over the weekend in a preseason game, Willis completed 3 of 4 passes for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Titans win over the Saints, 30-27. He connected with Bryce Oliver on two fourth quarter touchdown passes, the second on fourth and 1 from the 5-yard line with 1:25 left to help the Titans come back for the win.
