Liberty has added a commitment through the transfer portal from former Michigan linebacker Micah Pollard. He has two years of eligibility remaining.

Pollard is a 6’3″, 200 pound linebacker who played in 30 career games over three seasons at Michigan, including two in 2024, finishing with 15 career tackles for the maize and blue.

As a true freshman in 2022, Pollard appeared in 13 games on special teams for the Wolverines and four at linebacker, finishing with 8 tackles and twice being named Special Teams Freshman of the Game by Michigan.

In 2023, Pollard played in all 15 Michigan games with 7 tackles while helping them to the CFP national championship. This year, Pollard played in two games, against Fresno State and Texas, before being unavailable the rest of the season with an undisclosed injury. In addition to the national title, Pollard was part of a team with two Big Ten titles and two trips to the CFP, as well as three wins over Ohio State.

He is the son of former NFL tight end Marcus Pollard and was a three-star recruit and the No. 620 player in the country coming out of the 2022 class. Micah’s brother, Myles, still plays for the Wolverines. Micah is also the nephew of Braylon Edwards who starred at Michigan and also played in the NFL for 8 seasons.

He attended Bartram Trail High School out of Jacksonville, Florida, helping lead his team to a 19-5 record over his last two seasons. As a junior, Pollard had 55 tackles, 22 tackles for loss, 11 sacks, 2 forced fumbles, and an interception. He chose Michigan over numerous offers including Auburn, Indiana, Arizona, Cincinnati, Iowa State, Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Ole Miss, Rutgers, South Carolina, UCF, Virginia Tech, and others. He was also offered by the current Liberty coaching staff when they were at Coastal Carolina.

Pollard is the second linebacker the Flames have received a commitment from this portal period, joining former Michigan and Florida linebacker Deuce Spurlock. Spurlock and Pollard were teammates in 2022 and part of the same recruiting class for Michigan that season.
