The Liberty Flames remain in both the Coaches and AP Top 25 polls this week, staying at No. 22 and moving up to No.21, respectively following the program’s 8-0 start to the 2020 campaign. That ranking doesn’t keep the second year FBS program from being a road underdog this week against unranked NC State (5-3) as the two teams prepare to tango this coming Saturday in Raleigh, North Carolina. The Wolfpack are currently listed as 4 point favorites in the game that is scheduled to kickoff this coming Saturday at 7:30 p.m. on ACC Regional Networks.
The Flames will be looking to complete the regular season sweep of its three ACC opponents this season. Liberty knocked off Syracuse, 38-21, in the Carrier Dome on Oct. 17 and Virginia Tech, 38-35, on Nov. 7. The Flames were slight favorites in that matchup against the Orange and around 17.5 point underdogs against the Hokies..
Liberty is coming off a 58-14 win over Western Carolina while the Wolfpack improved to 5-3 on the season with a 38-22 home win over Florida State Saturday night. This will be the second ever meeting between the two programs as NC State defeated Liberty, when the Flames were FCS members, 43-21 to open the 2011 season on Sept. 3.
