Successful NFL seasons
Both Mike Brown and Rashad Jennings have put together successful NFL seasons in their own right so far this year. Brown, the former Liberty quarterback and wide receiver, has 13 receptions for 226 yards and 1 touchdown in just 4 games played. That 1 touchdown came this past week against the 49ers, it was his first career NFL touchdown. In his past 3 games, Brown has caught at least 3 passes each game including a 5 reception and 120 yard game just a couple weeks ago.

In his first season playing for the Raiders, Rashad has rushed the ball 36 times for 140 yards for a respectable 3.9 yards per carry average. He has also hauled in 12 passes for 97 yards, but where Jennings has made his mark this year is on special teams. Rashad has blocked two punts including one which was recovered in the end zone for a touchdown.

Bradwell commits
In a much expected move, J.T. Bradwell gave his verbal pledge this week to Liberty coach Turner Gill. He is a 6’2″, 200 pound dual threat quarterback from Tallahassee, Florida. Bradwell helped lead Godby high school to the 5A Florida state championship. The Flames ramped up their intensity in recruiting him following Terrance Ervin’s decommitment. Bradwell becomes the 4th verbal commitment in the class of 2014 for the Flames.

Swimming #43 in country
Liberty’s swimming & diving team, one of the newest programs at Liberty, has recently been ranked #43 in the country by CollegeSwimming.com. The Flames compete in their lone home contest this year on November 8 at 5pm in the Liberty Aquatic Center.

Womens’ soccer #2 in BSC
The womens’ soccer team finished one of their most successful regular seasons in program history when they defeated Longwood 1-0 this week. With the win, the Lady Flames clinched the #2 seed in the upcoming Big South Conference tournament. Liberty plays host to #7 Presbyterian on Sunday at 2pm. Liberty finished the season 13-5-1 overall and 8-2-1 in the Big South. The 13 regular season wins and 8 conference wins are program records.
