Hopefully you caught our first Big South basketball power rankings of the 2013-14 season earlier this week. Keep a lookout for that each week as we will update it weekly throughout the season.
Allan Chaney, one of two current Division I players playing with the assistance of an internal defibrillator, appeared to collapse during High Point’s game against Wofford this past Sunday. However, the team confirmed Chaney did not collapse, but instead laid down on the court after his device went off during the game. Chaney transferred to High Point following stints at both Florida and Virginia Tech. He has been diagnosed with an inflammatory heart disease after he collapsed while working out with Virginia Tech in 2010.
