Baseball in regional
The Flames make their 5th all-time and 2nd consecutive regional appearance this weekend in Charlottesville. Liberty got the #3 seed and will face #2 seed Arkansas Friday night at 7pm on ESPNU. The pitching matchup tonight features Big South pitcher of the year Trey Lambert (11-2, 2.10 ERA) against Arkansas’ Chris Oliver (8-4, 2.45 ERA). This will be the first ever matchup between the 2 programs. Liberty is 6-21 all-time against SEC opponents with a 1-0 mark this season. The Flames beat Missouri 2-1 on February 25th earlier this year.
The Flames have never advanced to a Super Regional and are 3-8 all-time in regional play.
