4 Flames selected in MLB draft
Liberty baseball saw 4 members of its team selected in the 2014 MLB First Year Player Draft last weekend. Ryan Seiz was selected in the 17th round by the Los Angeles Angels. Ashton Perritt was also selected in the 17th round by the Atlanta Braves. Alex Close was selected in the 27th round by the Kansas City Royals. Adam Parks was selected in the 33rd round by the Texas Rangers.
All 4 are underclassmen and have the ability to return to Liberty next season if they choose. While there hasn’t been any official word as of yet, you can try to read between the lines of some of their respective tweets since being drafted.
Thank you @libertybaseball for believing in me as a person and a player. Love all my teammates and I’m going to miss you all

The Flames have had at least one player taken every year since 2000, and has had 4 or more players picked in each of the past 4 drafts.
Signee Blake Bivens drafted
Baseball signee Blake Bivens from George Washington High School was drafted by the Tampa Bay Rays in the 4th round of the MLB Draft. It sounds like Bivens will sign with Tampa and forgo his scholarship offer to Liberty.
Official word from Blake Bivens family: GW-Danville product is going pro. He’ll sign with @RaysBaseball. @libertyflames fans-sorry Charlie.
