2015 football schedule
As we mentioned previously this week, the 2015 football schedule is complete. The Flames will have nonconference road games against West Virginia, James Madison, and Georgia State, and nonconference home games against Montana and Indiana State. Liberty will also face Big South opponents Coastal Carolina, Presbyterian and start-up program Kennesaw State at home and Gardner-Webb, Monmouth, and Charleston Southern on the road.
So, there will be just 5 home games next year which will happen from time to time if Athletic Director Jeff Barber sticks to his no Division II games approach.
*Update 6/23 – the Indiana State return trip is not scheduled until 2017. So, there’s still 1 more opening on the 2015 schedule.
Minor League debuts
A couple of Flames made their minor league debuts this week. Ryan Seiz, who was drafted by the Angels, made his debut with the Orem Owlz. Orem is one of the Angels’ Rookie League teams. Seiz was 2/4 with both hits being home runs in his first game with Orem. He is 6/18 through his first 4 games after another impressive performance on Thursday where he was 3/6 with 2 doubles, 2 runs, and 1 RBI.
Adam Parks, who was drafted by the Texas Rangers, made his debut with the Spokane Indians. Spokane is the Short Season Class A affiliate of the Rangers. Parks struck out 4 in 2 innings on June 16th in his debut.
