4 Carolina players suspended
Probably the biggest story this week entering the game, is the Carolina announcement of 4 defensive players suspended for Saturday’s game. The 4 players are Des Lawrence, Brian Walker, Donnie Miles, and M.J. Stewart. Lawrence and Walker were listed as starters at the 2 cornerback spots with Stewart listed as Lawrence’s back-up. The suspensions come in the wake of a report earlier this week of a hazing incident which took place earlier in the month. The Flames’ experienced quarterback and receivers will certainly provide a test for the Tar Heels secondary.
Injury update
Good news for Coach Gill & company on the injury front so far this season. Safety Gary Sampson is the only Flame who Gill singled out earlier this week as being questionable. As the week has progressed, it looks more and more like Sampson will give it a go on Saturday.
