Liberty continues to add to its roster through the transfer portal, this time picking up a commitment from wide receiver Trent Hudson.
The former Mississippi State and New Mexico State wide receiver visited Liberty last week.
After beginning his career at the JUCO level where he was named an NJCAA All-American as a freshman in 2022, he landed at New Mexico State. Hudson exploded onto the scene in 2023 at New Mexico State where he had 36 receptions for 551 yards and 10 touchdowns. He then transferred to Mississippi State where he played in four games this past season but did not record any stats.
Since entering the portal, Hudson has picked up offers from Liberty, Southern Miss, Washington State, FAU, Sam Houston, Coastal Carolina, Bowling Green, UAB, North Texas, and Western Kentucky.
Hudson is the first wide receiver to commit in the portal for the Flames, he joins Wingate transfer OL Erwil Anthony and Georgia Tech transfer RB Evan Dickens as early commits out of the portal for the Flames.
