We have been able to confirm that Liberty offensive line coach Dennis Wagner has been relieved of his duties, according to multiple sources. This was first mentioned on our forums.
Wagner has been the Flames’ offensive line coach since Turner Gill was named head coach in 2012. Prior to his time at Liberty, Wagner was the head coach at Western Carolina from 2006-11. He’s also served at various stops including OL Coach at Fresno State and Nebraska.
This season, the Flames offensive line struggled as it was hampered by injuries throughout the year. Liberty started 8 different offensive line combinations in their 11 games in 2016. The offensive line allowed 30 sacks and Liberty rushed for just 3.6 yards per carry this year.
