The Presbyterian College Blue Hose come into Lynchburg having struggled this season. They have just three wins, and they have started the same number of quarterbacks. However, their starter for the last three games, Heys McMath, has provided a spark of hope.

McMath, a 6’4”, 200 lb. true freshman from Savannah, GA, has led the Blue Hose to two wins in his three games. More importantly, he has gone 1-1 in Big South Conference play, giving Presbyterian a chance to pass up Liberty in the standings with a win this Saturday.

McMath’s college debut, against VMI on October 19, was stunning. He was 21-of-33 for 322 yards and two touchdowns, adding 25 yards and a touchdown on the ground en route to winning Big South Freshman of the Week honors. His passing performance also ranks 7th in Presbyterian’s Division I history.

The Blue Hose are coming off a loss to Charleston Southern in their last game, in which McMath threw for 298 yards and two touchdowns, but also was picked off for the first two times of his career.

The Flames’ secondary has feasted on quarterbacks this season, with 13 interceptions, so this will be an interesting matchup. McMath may have a slight advantage, with only three games under his belt adding up to a pretty sparse scouting report. Still, things could go either way. We will have to wait until Saturday to find out.
