After Liberty’s week 2 victory over Florida International, our ASOR Player of the Week is WR DJ Stubbs.
Stubbs showed his athletic ability making countless Panther defenders miss, while hauling in 8 receptions for 119 yards and 1 TD. The former FIU commit hauled in an impressive TD catch that got him on SportsCenter’s Top 10. This was the second week in a row that a Liberty WR had a catch on the SportsCenter Top 10 highlight reel.
It was Stubbs’ fourth career 100-yard receiving game and first since having 108 yards on Oct. 20, 2018 against Idaho State. He was also the first Liberty receiver not named Antonio Gandy-Golden to have a 100-yard receiving game since that date.
As the Flames improve to 2-0, production like this out of Stubbs will be crucial if Liberty wants to continue their winning ways. Liberty will host North Alabama next Saturday.
