This week’s ASOR Player of the Week goes to S Javon Scruggs. The Flames came into the game ranked top 13 in the nation in total defense, and Scruggs and Liberty proved why.
Scruggs was a force Saturday night, and played a massive role in holding NC State to their lowest scoring total of the season. Scruggs finished the night with 10 total tackles, 5 of which were solo. He also had a pass deflection as the Flames fell one point short of defeating the Wolfpack. The defensive captain has been nothing short of productive this season for the Flames on defense, as he has 28 solo tackles, 1 forced fumble, and 1 interception on the year.
Scruggs and the Flames will travel back to Lynchburg to face the UMASS Minutemen this Friday at noon. The game will be streamed on ESPN3.
