This week’s ASOR Player of the Week belongs to Anthony Butler.
The Senior LB was an absolute force on defense for the Flames Saturday. Against the Lions, Butler accounted for a team best 9 total tackles (5 solo), 1 sack, and two interceptions.
His play was a huge reason the Flames only allowed 7 points on the day. Butler even saved a potential Lions TD with an interception in the end zone, and his sack late in the first half forced a more difficult field goal which was missed..
As the 3-0 Flames look ahead to UL Monroe, defensive performances like Butler’s will be crucial if the Flames want to beat the Warhawks and other future opponents.
