This week’s ASOR Player of the Week goes to LB Carl Poole. After missing last week’s game against Virginia Tech due to Covid-19, Poole had quite the welcome back party Saturday.
“I didn’t get to play last week because I had COVID,” Poole said after the game. “Coming back this week, it was a blessing to be out there with my guys and my team.”
Poole was a force on defense against the Catamounts. The former walk-on accounted for four tackles in the game along with a forced fumble and a fumble recovery, as well as an interception. The interception and fumble recovery against Western Carolina were the first of the season for Poole, and his four tackles brings him to a total of sixteen total tackles on the year, eight of which are solo.
Poole and the Flames will now prepare for the NC State Wolfpack, as they look to win their third game this season against an ACC program. That game will kick off Saturday at 7:30 pm on ACC Regional Networks.
