How does Kennesaw State match up
By time the Flames and Owls meet, KSU will have played 6 games. While most of these games won’t give us much of a barometer of how good they are, the Owls face Gardner-Webb in their first ever Big South game the week before Liberty and Kennesaw State square off.
What do we know now? Their head coach is Brian Bohannon who came to KSU from Georgia Tech where he was the Yellow Jackets’ quarterbacks coach from 2008-2012. Bohannon has also coached at Gardner-Webb (1996), Georgia Southern (1997-2001), and Navy (2002-2007). He has been instrumental in the triple option offenses at each of his previous 3 stops.
Their roster is comprised of 4 FBS transfers, 4 FCS transfers, 7 JUCO transfers, and 3 sub-DI transfers. KSU has just 5 seniors and 64 freshman and redshirt-freshman.
Playing a first-year program at home shouldn’t be a big obstacle for the Flames, but Kennesaw State will likely be a team competing for Big South football championships in the future.
