We caught up with the highest rated recruit in school history, Khristian Zachary. The four-star rated recruit signed with Liberty early on Wednesday. Here’s what he had to say about his decision to sign with Liberty:
What attracted you most to Liberty?
Zachary: “Jesus Christ. I feel like I can see Christ in that school. Jesus led me to be a part of this awesome program. I think that was the biggest thing for me, where their faith is.”
What are your thoughts of this year’s Liberty team?
KZ: “It has been a journey of faith in my opinion.I can tell that was a big vision that was just fulfilled. Just how everything blew up, it was just amazing. I feel like this was a God-led season. Spiritual season. Reaping what you’re sewing and that was this year, but I feel like God has more for us in store. I feel like this was a great year, but we lost one game, but God is gonna lift us even higher than that. God always wants us to be our best. It was a great year, but I know God has even more for us in store.”
As you sign your official letter of intent, where does this rank of special moments in your life?
KZ: “It’s high up there. It’s high. Really really high. I don’t have a set number, but it’s really high. I haven’t done anything yet. College is where it’s at. You can be the best in high school or you can be the worst. It matters what you do in college, cause that is gonna put you where you go. This is a very exciting time. This is the start of a new chapter in my life and I am ready for it.”
What was the main factor for you in recruitment?
KZ: “I wasn’t looking much for the recruiting aspect, ’cause I already set up my mind that I was gonna go to Liberty no matter what. All I needed to know was they wanted me to be there. That’s all I needed to make my decision.”
Will you be enrolling early?
KZ: “No. No I will not.”
