We continue to countdown towards the 2024 football season where Liberty will look to repeat as Conference USA champs under head coach Jamey Chadwell all while looking to make it back to a 6th straight bowl game.

As we have done the past several years, we will rank Liberty’s top 30 football players entering the 2024 season. We begin today with our ranking of players #30-21.

30. Ryan Burger

We begin our countdown with a player that many hope only plays at the end of games while he is taking a knee in the victory formation. We all know Kaidon Salter is Liberty’s starting quarterback, but Ryan Burger has transferred in from Appalachian State and provides a solid backup if the Flames need to turn to him.

29. Austin Henderson

In his second season at Liberty, the former Minnesota transfer Austin Henderson was a valuable member of the very dynamic Liberty offense in 2023. The tight end can make an impact with his ability to block while also being able to step out and catch passes for the Flames.

28. Joe Carter

A former walk-on, Carter became a very valuable member of the Flames’ defensive unit at linebacker last season. By the end of the year, he was a starter at the position as one of the more consistent performers and harder workers on the team.

27. Tyson Mobley

The Coastal Carolina transfer made his presence known in the spring game, catching the first pass of the game for a long touchdown from QB Kaidon Salter. Mobley will have his opportunities to be a go to weapon for the Flames at the receiver position, a role that he has yet to serve throughout his career to this point.

26. Dominick Hill

Hill transferred to Liberty this spring from Temple, and he will have the opportunity to become a key contributor at corner for the Flames where the team is looking to find replacements for Preston Hodge and Kobe Singleton.

25. Jerome Jolly

Jolly has had a very successful career at Liberty. Early on he played safety and was a standout on special teams. Last year, we saw some of that success translate to the defensive side of the ball at linebacker where he turned into a bit of a ball hawk. His versatility allows him to make contributions on the field in several areas.

24. Max Morgan

The Flames can turn to the veteran Morgan on special teams where he has established himself as one of the more consistent punters in CUSA. Morgan has also been the team’s kickoff specialist.

23. John Paul Flores

Flores will have an opportunity to slide in as a starter on the offensive line for the Flames this season with both guard spots having been vacated by prior starters. Flores was on campus in the spring, having the ability to go through spring workouts. Liberty will look to him to solidify his spot as a starter during training camp.

22. Jacob Jenkins

Jenkins transferred to Liberty last year from Coastal Carolina, but due to it being his second career transfer, he was forced to sit out the season. The former All-Sun Belt performer was able to return to the field in the Fiesta Bowl where he made his presence known. As part of three very talented tight ends leading the Flames at that position, Jenkins should not be discounted for his potential to have a very successful season this fall.

21. Eldric Griffin

Griffin is a JUCO transfer who joined the Flames in the spring. He could become a starter at safety this fall where the Flames are looking to help offset the loss of some key performers from a season ago.
