Liberty University football alum Rashad Jennings announced his retirement from the NFL Friday. Jennings, 32, spent 8 seasons in the NFL, including his final 3 with the New York Giants. In 93 career games, he rushed for 3,772 yards and 23 touchdowns on 930 carries, good for 4.1 yards per attempt. Rashad also added 191 receptions for 1,469 yards and 2 additional touchdowns.
After starring at Liberty under former head coach Danny Rocco, Jennings was a 7th round draft pick in the 2009 NFL Draft by the Jacksonville Jaguars. After 4 seasons in Jacksonville, Rashad played for the Oakland Raiders in 2013 and Giants from 2014-2016.
