The Flames picked up their 2nd commitment of the weekend from Frank Boyd. Boyd is a 5’11”, 175 pound running back from Manchester High School in Richmond, Virginia. He helped lead Manchester to the 6A state quarterfinals for the first time in school history. Boyd finished the 2016 season with 1,615 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing in addition to his 175 receiving yards and 1 touchdown.
Boyd had numerous Division II offers, and chose Liberty over other Division I offers including Delaware State, Howard, NC Central, and Norfolk State. He also visited NC Central prior to committing to Liberty.
Liberty had 6 prospective student-athletes taking an official visit this weekend. Verbal commits Remington Green, Cooper McCaw, and Jayod Sanders all took their official visits this weekend. Boyd and London Lewis both committed while on their visit. Tight end Malik Thirdgill was the 6th individual taking an official visit this weekend. Thirdgill has yet to make a decision regarding his future.
