Here’s how former Liberty players fared this past week in NFL preseason games.

QB MALIK WILLIS

Willis completed 3 of 4 passes for 51 yards and 2 touchdowns in the Titans win over the Saints, 30-27. He connected with Bryce Oliver on two fourth quarter touchdown passes, the second on fourth and 1 from the 5-yard line with 1:25 left to help the Titans come back for the win.

Not long after the game, Willis was traded to the Green Bay Packers for a 7th round pick where he will serve as Jordan Love’s backup quarterback.

WR DEMARIO DOUGLAS

Douglas was drafted in the 6th round of the 2023 NFL draft by the New England Patriots, and he immediately asserted himself as one of the top receivers for New England. Douglas, who will now wear #3 for the Patriots like he did at Liberty, will look to secure his starting spot for New England during the preseason. Douglas had 49 receptions for 561 yards and rushed 8 times for 41 yards in his rookie season last year.

Douglas had 3 receptions for 14 yards on 4 targets in the Patriots’ loss to the Commanders, 20-10. He also had one punt return for 6 yards.

DE DURRELL JOHNSON

Johnson was signed as an undrafted free agent by the Dallas Cowboys following the 2023 draft. He will be looking to turn heads and grab the attention of his team executives during training camp and this preseason and perhaps crack the 53-man roster for the first time in his career.

He did not record any stats in the Cowboys game on Saturday against the Chargers, a 26-19 loss. He was cut by the Cowboys as they trim their roster down to 53. He should be a candidate to make their practice squad once again.

LB STOREY JACKSON

After spending this past season as a member of the UFL’s Arlington Renegades, Jackson was signed by the Falcons earlier this month. He had 41 tackles and 2 TFLs with Arlington while also making an impact on special teams. He recorded one tackle for loss for the Falcons on Friday night in a 31-0 loss to the Jaguars. Jackson was cut by the Falcons over the weekend.
