Here’s how former Liberty players fared this past week in the first week of the NFL season.

QB MALIK WILLIS

Malik Willis got the start, his first for Green Bay, and led the Packers to a 16-10 lead at Lambeau Field over the Indianapolis Colts. He had his best day of his now three-year NFL career, completing 12 of 14 passes for 122 yards and 1 touchdown. He was also second on the team in rushing with 6 carries for 41 yards. More importantly, the former Liberty quarterback had no turnovers.

Green Bay starter Jordan Love could miss a couple more weeks, and, if he does, Willis will continue to get the start. This week, Green Bay makes the trip to Nashville to take on Malik’s former team, the Tennessee Titans. It would certainly be a nice story to see him get the start against his former team.

WR DEMARIO DOUGLAS

Surprisingly, Demario Douglas was not involved in the Patriots’ 23-20 overtime loss to the Seattle Seahawks. He did not record any stats.
