Liberty has received a verbal commitment from Offensive Lineman Jesse Karnezis from Asheville, NC. Karnezis alo considered “Wofford, Western Carolina, and Furman.” He ended up choosing Liberty due to the “Christian morale surrounding the football team.” Jesse also gives Coach Gill and Coach Torbush a lot of credit in his decision. He stated that Torbush “treated me like a son from day one.” He went further in saying the coaching staff is “the real reason (he) chose Liberty.”
What about Liberty and realignment? How did that have an impact on Karnezis? He says that he is “very excited” about Liberty’s FBS intentions and is “looking forward to helping the team achieve a bowl victory and be recognized as a top program in the nation.” He hopes that the Flames join the “Sun Belt or Big 10” while he is at Liberty.
How will it feel to finally sign on the dotted line on signing day? “I will feel extremley blessed. College division one football has been my childhood dream. I will feel immensely blessed and honored to sign with Liberty.” Jesse seems to have a great relationship with the coaching staff. He says he “loves” them and that they are the “real reason (he) chose Liberty.” He went further saying “they all have the same mindset of achieving an excellent reputation around the world. They want to see all the players succeed and the university as a whole…I’m honored to have been selected by them to play on their team.”
Karnezis played Center in high school, and he is expected to do the same at Liberty.
Jesse says the hardest thing about going away from school is being away from his family. He says he has a “great bond with every family member.” Hoping to help him with the transition, Jesse knows several people who will be attending Liberty next year including Jacob Nielson and Carrie. He wanted to be sure to give them a shoutout!
