Several reports are indicating that Liberty is expected to hire Kyle Krantz as the team’s new special teams coordinator.
Krantz is currently a special teams analyst for the Missouri Tigers. He has experience as a special teams coordinator, previously working in those roles at South Carolina and Washington State. This is the first hire that has become public since Jamey Chadwell was named head coach at Liberty.
Missouri blocked two kicks and one punt this season while not allowing any blocked kicks or punts this past year. Additionally, Missouri had one of the best kickoff return defenses this season, only allowing 13.64 yards per kick return.
While at South Carolina where he spent five seasons, Krantz coached under Will Muschamp. Before South Carolina, Krantz spent the 2015 season as a defensive analyst on Gus Malzahn’s staff at Auburn. He also worked with Muschamp at Florida where he was in charge of quality control for the offense in 2013, working primarily with the wide receivers, and for the defense in 2014.
