I absolutely believe he should get another year and believe he will.
I don’t think he should get another year. If Liberty wants to go big time with their athletics, Layer does not appear to be the coach to get them there. The Big South is one of the five worst conferences in Division I and Layer can’t do better than losing in the first round of the Big South tournament? It isn’t like the other schools have more talent. The budget Liberty spends on athletics (especially basketball) is being crippled by the poor results. Layer seems like a great person and I appreciate that, but the team isn’t responding to his coaching and the program has gone worse instead of better under his watch.
