Mid-Year Enrollees
QB Mason Cunningham (JUCO)
The Flames picked up a commitment from Cunningham, a JUCO QB prospect originally from Shelbyville, Tennessee. Cunningham spent this past season at Northeast Mississippi Community College in Booneville, Mississippi. He was 160/280 passing for 1,810 yards, 12 touchdowns, and 13 interceptions at Northeast, while also rushing for 185 yards and 6 touchdowns. He has 3 years of eligibility and a redshirt year remaining. He has enrolled for the spring semester. Cunningham is a 6’0″, 192 pound athlete.

OL Tristan Schultz
Schultz is originally from Culver, Indiana where he attended Culver Community High School where he earned all-conference and team MVP honors as a senior. After graduating from Culver, he spent this past season at Fork Union Military Academy. Schultz is a 6’4″, 280 pound prospect. He has enrolled at Liberty for the spring semester.

Coleman committed to Liberty over offers from Coastal Carolina, Florida A&M, and Youngstown State. He is a 6’2″, 180 pound prospect from Washington, DC., where he attends Woodrow Wilson High School. He had 956 receiving yards and 13 touchdowns on 39 receptions this past season. He was named to the USA Today All-D.C. team as a senior.

DL Jayod Sanders
Sanders attends Leon High School in Tallahassee, Florida where he played linebacker, defensive end, and tight end. The 6’3″, 215 pound prospect was originally committed to NC Central before decommiting and committing to the Flames. He will play defensive end at Liberty.

DL Elisha Mitchell
Mitchell is a 6’3″, 300 pound prospect from Virginia Beach where he attends Bayside High. He committed to Liberty over an offer from Norfolk State. His senior year awards include first-team all-conference defense, second-team all-conference offense (offensive tackle), All-757 third-team offense and second-team all-region defense. Mitchell was also named Bayside’s Defensive MVP after finishing his senior year with 60 tackles, including 13 tackles for a loss and five sacks. He also added four pass breakups, two blocked field goals and a forced fumble as a senior.

S Aaron Pierre
Pierre is a 6’0″, 205 pound prospect from Cambridge-Christian School in Tampa, Florida. He also had offers from Bowling Green and Buffalo. He played both safety and running back in high school, but will begin his Liberty career as a defensive back. Pierre finished his senior year with 55 tackles, 1.5 sacks, two interceptions and 11 pass breakups. On offense, he added 500 total offensive yards and four touchdowns as a senior. His senior year honors include: team captain, Cambridge Christian’s Most Versatile Athlete, all-county and all-state, and he was named to the Hillsborough All-Star team.

RB Frank Boyd
Boyd is a 5’11”, 175 pound running back from Manchester High School in Richmond, Virginia. He helped lead Manchester to the 6A state quarterfinals for the first time in school history. Boyd finished the 2016 season with 1,615 yards and 20 touchdowns rushing in addition to his 175 receiving yards and 1 touchdown. Boyd had numerous Division II offers, and chose Liberty over other Division I offers including Delaware State, Howard, NC Central, and Norfolk State. He also visited NC Central prior to committing to Liberty.

OL Cooper McCaw
The 6’5″, 265 pound prospect from Grapevine, Texas chose the Flames over Arkansas State and Louisiana Lafayette. To all those who have asked, he is not related to Liberty’s new Athletic Director Ian McCaw. He earned first-team all-district and all-state honors as a senior and was named to the academic all-state team as a junior and senior.

LB Remington Green
Green was the first commitment in the class of 2017 when he committed back in June. He is a 6’0″, 220 pound prospect from King George, Virginia. Green was an all-conference defensive end as a sophomore and junior, and he was named team captain for his junior and senior seasons. He also earned all-conference honors at both defensive end and tight end as a senior.

WR DJ Stubbs
He’s a 5’9″, 175 pound prospect from Jacksonville, Florida. He was originally committed to Florida International, but he decommitted in mid-December. He has numerous offers including Appalachian State, Charleston Southern, Elon, Furman, Old Dominion, Richmond, Samford, UT Martin, and Western Kentucky. He will play wide receiver with the Flames. He’s a versatile athlete who played quarterback, running back, wide receiver and free safety during his time at University Christian School. He helped his high school win state championships during his junior and senior seasons. Stubbs finished his senior season with 55 rushing attempts for 474 yards and four touchdowns and had 23 receptions for 307 yards and four touchdowns. He also finished his senior year completing 13-of-31 pass attempts for 262 yards and four touchdowns, while adding three interceptions. Stubbs was also a five-time all-tournament team member in basketball, helping University Christian School win two tournament titles. He is expected to be an immediate contributor as a return and slot receiver.

LB Amarii Jenkins
Jenkins just committed to Coach Gill and the Flames this month. He is a 6’0″, 195 pound prospect from Ocala, Florida. As a senior at West Port High School, he recorded 60 tackles, five forced fumbles and three fumble recoveries, and had four interceptions as a senior, returning three for defensive touchdowns. Jenkins earned first-team all-conference and second-team all-county honors as a senior, and was selected to participate in the 352 Pigskin All-Star game. He was also named team MVP and MCIAC first-team honoree as a senior.

TE Jerome Jackson
Liberty picked up a commitment from Jerome Jackson. The 6’5″, 215 pound prospect was on an official visit last weekend. He attended Timber Creek High School in Forth Worth, Texas. As a senior, he recorded 27 receptions for 477 yards and 3 touchdowns. Liberty was his lone reported Division I offer. Jackson earned All-District 6A-1 honorable mention accolades as a junior, and he earned All-District 6A-1 first-team honors as a senior.

TE Fidel Ogbeifun
Ogbeifun is a 6’3″, 225 pound tight end from Douglasville, Georgia. He also had reported offers from Florida International, Austin Peay, Eastern Illinois, Jacksonville State, and Chattanooga. As a senior, he had 38 receptions for 647 yards and 7 touchdowns and was named Offensive Player of the Year. At Douglas County High School, Ogbeifun played offensive line as a junior. He was also named to the all-region first team during his final season at Douglas County High School.

CB Keith Best
Liberty just offered Best last week. He visited the Flames this past weekend, the first official visit he has taken, and committed while on his visit. He also had reported offers from Kentucky, Miami (OH), Southern Miss, and Tulane. Best is a 6’2″, 180 pound prospect from Tucker, Georgia. He is recovering from a torn ACL suffered in early September, causing him to miss much of his senior season. Best played his freshman and sophomore seasons at Kell High School where he was named Offensive Player of the Year as a freshman and sophomore.

DB Kimani Donaldson
Donaldson had an in-home visit from Turner Gill and Marshall Roberts last week. He also committed to Liberty while on his visit this past weekend. The Flames are his only reported offer. He’s a 6’0″, 165 pound athlete from Jonesboro, Georgia where he attends Mundys Mill High School. This past season, he recorded 46 tackles, 1 tackle for loss, and 1 interception. Earned Best Defensive Back award winner as a senior and was All-Region 4-AAAAA and Clayton County Daily News honorable mention selections as a senior.
