Former Alabama & Virginia quarterback Phillip Sims could be headed to Liberty.
Hearing that Liberty is a top contender for former #UVa QB Phillip Sims. ODU is not in the running.

As was announced last week, Sims is no longer enrolled at Virginia and will not play for the team in 2013. Sims transferred to Virginia in 2012 after spending his freshman year at Alabama. Last season he was 114/203 passing for 1,263 yards, 9 touchdowns, and 4 interceptions. He also rushed for 18 yards and 2 touchdowns. Sims was the #2 rated quarterback coming out of high school in the class of 2010. Sims is originally from Oscar Smith High School in Chesapeake, Virginia.
If he transfers to Liberty, Sims would be eligible to play immediately.

Yeah, it’d be nice to add a former 4-star recruit, but let’s get real. These guys that publicly proclaim their faith with, “I love the Lord”…”God 1st”, etc. in one breath and then with the next breath also publicly use the N-word, F-word, MF-word, and refer to woman by their genitalia are not sincere or mature believers. Period.
Too many “believers” grow up in an environment where this is an acceptable form of Christianity. It isn’t and we (or Turner Gill) shouldn’t pretend that it is.
People do change and believers do mature….if they want to. However, the first step is recognizing the unbiblical and ungodly parts of our lives and making the appropriate changes. Frankly, after seeing how Phillip Sims represents himself in public, I think it’d be a disaster to add him to the football program. I wish I could say otherwise but I can’t.
