On Saturday, Liberty and new head coach Jamey Chadwell picked up another commitment, the third in just a matter of days, as Vaughn Blue announced his commitment to the Flames.
Blue is a 5’10”, 180 pound running back from Oceanside Collegiate Academy in Mount Pleasant, South Carolina. He was originally committed to Charlotte but decommitted from the 49ers following their coaching change. Blue also had offers from Coastal Carolina, Western Kentucky, and several FCS schools prior to committing to Charlotte this past summer. He is rated as a three-star prospect by On3Sports.
Blue visited Liberty and Coach Chadwell this week, picking up an offer while on his visit. He, alongside the rest of the Class of 2023, can make things official and sign with the Flames on Wednesday with the December signing period opens.
Blue is the first running back from high school to commit to Liberty since prior to previous head coach Hugh Freeze and his tenure in Lynchburg.
