Defensive backs Kenny Scott and Kevin Fogg |
After their co-championship 2012 season, the Flames look to come out even stronger in 2013. Their journey began yesterday afternoon at Williams Stadium.
The most common combination of skill position players we saw:
QB: Josh Woodrum
RB: Aldreakis Allen
TE: Brandon Apon
WR: Darrin Peterson
WR: Dante Shells
WR: Gabe Henderson
Notes:
- Look for Jaquan Glover to be a big part of the offense in the fall, as well as the skill position players we saw in practice.
- Desmond Rice and DJ Abnar both had good reps at RB, Abnar has become known for his skills as a kick returner after 2012.
- Javan Shashaty and Cory Benedetto both took equal reps at QB.
- Gabe Henderson looked smooth transitioning to wideout, he should be a solid part of the 2013 offense.
- Kevin Fogg was back fielding punts, and looked well.
- Walt Aikens showed great intensity and excitement, hopefully that will be honed to make plays at DB in 2013, he fielded punts as well.
- The play of the day has to go to Kenny Scott, who read a route perfectly on what would be a pick six. He has playmaker instincts at corner that will hopefully lead to defensive points in 2013.
The Flames resume their spring practice schedule Thursday at 4:20.
