VOLLEYBALL
The Lady Flames are currently riding a 6-game win streak. The most notable of those wins came against, then conference leader, Charleston Southern.
This weekend (October 21st) Liberty will travel to Winthrop for a 7:00pm match.
On the 22nd, they will go to Boiling Springs to face Gardner-Webb at 3:00pm.

TURNER GILL & RON BROWN SUSPENDED
On Friday, Liberty announced the 1-game suspension of head football coach Turner Gill along with assistant coach Rob Brown due to NCAA recruiting violations.
It appears that Brown texted an offer to a recruit, not knowing it was the same as a written offer, before August 1st. This is considered a ‘Secondary/Level III’ violation as schools are not allowed to offer perspective players before August 1st of their senior year.
Coach Brown will serve his suspension during the Monmoth game on October 22nd and Coach Gill will serve his suspension during a game later in the season.
FOOTBALL
Liberty traveled to Georgia this past weekend and came home with a win against Big South foe Kennesaw State. Freshman QB Buckshot Calvert threw for 211 yards and a touchdown which earned him Big South Offensive Player of the Week. K Alex Probert kicked two 47-yard field goals and one 50-yarder which earned him the Big South Special Teams Player of the Week and also the first freshman kicker to make 3 field goals of 45-yards or longer in one game.
This weekend the Flames seek revenge upon Monmouth for their loss against the Hawks last year.
Kickoff is on Saturday at 3:30pm.
