The Race for the #1 Seed

There are just 2 more weeks and 4 games left in the regular season for Big South teams, and there are 3 teams vying for the coveted #1 seed in this year’s Big South Tournament. UNC-Asheville and Liberty are currently tied for first at 12-2 while Winthrop is just one game back at 11-3.

The #1 seed is more important this year than in recent seasons because not only will the #1 seed clinch an NIT bid at minimum, it will also host the Big South Tournament quarterfinal and semifinal rounds with the highest remaining seed hosting the championship game.
