Liberty officially punched its ticket to the NCAA Tournament on Sunday by defeating Lipscomb in the ASUN Conference Tournament Championship game for the second consecutive season. Now, we all wait for Selection Sunday this weekend to see where the Flames will play.
The hosts for this year’s first and second rounds are Albany, New York, Spokane, Washington, St. Louis, Missouri, Tampa, Florida, Greensboro, North Carolina, Omaha, Nebraska, Sacramento, California, and Cleveland, Ohio.
Albany, Spokane, St. Louis, and Tampa will play games on Thursday and Saturday, while Greensboro, Omaha, Sacramento, and Cleveland will play games on Friday and Sunday.
Most conference tournaments are still to be played this week so there will be plenty of moving parts, but the bracketologists are busy updating their projections daily. ESPN’s Joe Lunardi currently has Liberty as a 12-seed facing 5-seed Auburn in Sacramento. CBS’ Jerry Palm has the Flames as a 13-seed facing 4-seed Louisville in Tampa.
